This weekend saw the final race meeting in the UK National Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway near Northampton.

On Saturday Brad had a competent 12th place qualifying position from 23 competitors.
Sunday was a beautiful sunny autumn day with crisp cool air so the cars would generate lots of horsepower.

In the first round of eliminations Brad drew the 2nd Lucas Oil / Nick Good motorsport dragster usually driven but Dave Catton but for this weekend the car had a new driver from Beverley North Yorkshire, Chris Parker,

Chris  had gained his Super Comp license in America and with no team orders and Chris being coached by Dave Catton Brad knew this would be a close race,
Brad won the race and gained more valuable points for the championship, in the second round of eliminations  Brad made an uncharacteristic error and red lit by 200ths of a second so that was the weekend over for Brad.

The team now had a nail biting afternoon to see if any of the other drivers would surpass Brad in the championship and only Rick Cooke the No1 qualifier from the event overhauled Brad and took second place in the championship by a mere 170 points.

Brad finished a very creditable 3rd place in the National championship ( out of 56 ) and runner up in the APIRA championship beating some very able competitors from the UK and Europe, this has been a fantastic debut season for the Lucas Oil driver in his first season in a Super Pro car.

Brad had set a new personal best time of 7.68 seconds@ 175.01 mph from a standing start in a quarter of a mile, so was finishing the season on a high. Brad is already looking forward to the 2015 series and may be driving a faster car in 2015 watch this space for announcements.
