Festival of Power Santa Pod April 2014

Wheel Up Launch !!!

Hi reader
Just a quick note on Brad’s first outing in Super Pro, we arrived at Santa Pod on Thursday for a test day, Brad did 4 very good runs 8.08, 7.93, 7.88, 7.93 but on the last run we detected a misfire at the top end, we looked at the data and this showed the car had hit the rev limiter and on inspection we found that the gearbox had a fault.

Nick Good and Dave Catton drove a 175 mile round trip back to Norfolk and took the gearbox out of Dave’s car. We then fitted the new gearbox the following morning so we missed the first qualifying session after this huge effort from all the team !

Second qualifying Brad went into the 27 car field with 10th place 7.87 171.07 mph, the third session the car ran a pb of 7.73 173.6mph and we broke out dropping Brad to 19th place, the track then made a decision to abandon the last round of qualifying due to the rain forecast for Sunday so therefore Brad lost the chance to improve his qualifying position now we had more data from the new gearbox, in the first round of eliminations Brad ran a 7.85 171 mph to take his first round win in super pro.Sunday didn’t look very good on the forecast and we went into the second round of eliminations, Brad won the second round of eliminations with a time of 7.8202 on a 7.81 dial in a fantastic result.
Unfortunately the rains came and the meeting was abandoned but the team had a fantastic first event and Brad picked up valuable championship points.
A big thank you to all our sponsors and Nick Good Motorsport,  we look forward to the next meeting at Shakespeare County Raceway 3rd-5th May.

Pictures Show one of  Brad’s wheel up launches and an unfortunate show of exuberance from me !

Kindest Regards
