Festival Of Power

25th-27th March 2016

We arrived at Santa Pod eagerly awaiting the first meeting of the year, The Festival of Power, Easter was very early in the year and temperatures were sure to be low.


On Brad's first run on Friday the car lost traction at half track resulting in a big sideways slide which Brad controlled very well but the qualifying time was way too slow!

On Brads second run the car didn't seem to want to run cleanly and Brad ran a 7.95 on a 7.78 dial, way off the dial in and only good enough for 13th place.
We checked the data on the car and found 2 cylinders were running too hot so we changed the settings on the injection, we knew the weather forecast was poor for Saturday so would probably only get one more shot at an improvement.

Saturday morning brought a wet day with intermittent rain, storm Katie was heading our way!

The track crew did a fantastic job and after a long delay were had our third run and this again showed were were in trouble with a 7.95 on a 7.78 dial dropping Brad to 15th.
The rain came again and we were now going to go straight into eliminations once the track improved, this never happened and we were finished for the day

 Sunday morning saw a window in the weather and we went into eliminations round one against one of Brad's Ex Junior Dragster competitors, John Przyble, a very capable racer, we dialed a 7.90 and unfortunately the car stuttered of the line and ran a losing 9.06, well done to John he is a real young gentleman and apologised for the way he won.


Our weekend then took a lucky turn because the full storm finally came and the meeting had to be abandoned so we had a lucky escape and didn't lose too many points from this unusually poor weekend.
The car is in the workshop and we will have it fixed before the next meeting.
