Brad’s first run was a 0.030 reaction and 7.77 run on a 7.70 dial in gave a good 7th place start to the day. Brad’s second qualifier improved with a 0.064 reaction and a 7.738 on a 7.73 dial which moved Brad up to 2nd place. On the 3rd and final run everyone had a handle on the track conditions and we could hear on the commentary that Brad was getting overtaken. Brad again did a fantastic job with a 0.002 reaction time and a 7.762 on a dial of 7.76, 2 thousandths of a second incredibly was only good for 3rd place but this was a great result for Brad, Rene Ehrismann from Switzerland was #1 with a perfect 8.340 on an 8.34 dial in, Marius Blackburn #2 with 8.731 on a 8.73 dial in and Brad 2 thousandths of a second off in 3rd.
With qualifying over for the day we were very satisfied with #3 and the points that this would add to Brad’s tally of points.
Sunday morning we woke up to light rain and had to wait until lunchtime before the rain ceased and the track crew had dried the track.
In the first round of eliminations Brad had drawn our sister car in the team with Chris Parker driving this was going to be tough with the knowledge both drivers and crew had of each other.
Chris’s car is faster so we knew that Chris would be able to control the race , both drivers pulled 0.07 reaction lights and unfortunately for Brad Chris took the win by 2 hundredths of a second, congratulations to Chris, it was now a case of how many points our championship contenders would win.
Simon Gough won the event and Ian Powell lost in the quarter finals so Brad’s first round exit didn’t damage his championship challenge too much and Brad ended the event in 3rd place in the championship
